The Basics of Quilting

Have you always wanted to make a quilt but didn’t
know where to start?
Learn about the
tools you need to make quilting easy and fun. In just four weeks,
you will learn to pick fabrics, cut the blocks (no
scissors or templates to complicate things) then you
will sew it together and learn to baste it together.
Before you leave class you will also learn to sew on
the binding and make a label for your masterpiece!
This winter we're making a quilt that's the perfect
size to decorate your wall or curl up under this
winter. So come join us, bring your friends, or come
and make new friends as you begin your quilting
adventures!

Beyond the Basics
Instructor:
Terri Nussbaum
Go just beyond the first steps. Learn curved
piecing, inset seams, 54-60 angles, quarter square
triangles and how to set a quilt on the diagonal.
Fun techniques to help you through a life time of
quilting experiences.

Beginning Machine
Quilting
Instructor: Bobette Weimer
Have you been trying to figure out what the “secret”
is to quilting your quilts? It’s no secret—I'll show
you the tips and techniques you need to be a
successful machine quilter. Anyone can do it! With a
little practice, you'll be quilting all your
projects this year - come join the fun! We are
offering this class 2 times during this period.

Photo Transfer
Instructor: Bobette Weimer
Preserve your
pictures in a quilt. Make an heirloom quilt to pass
down for generations to come. Bobette will show you
the tips and tricks of photo transfer using Printed
Treasures. Then she will help with ideas for setting
the blocks and finishing the quilt.

Beginning
Embroidery
Instructor:
Ann Koch
Welcome this new (to our shop)
instructor. In this class you will learn 8 of the
most basic embroidery stitches. You will create you
own sampler, you will learn how to create your own
design and how to transfer designs. When you are
finished you will have a piece suitable for a pillow
or a wall hanging.

Paper Piecing
Instructor:
Colleen Castner
Paper piecing,
always a topic of conversation in the shop and
quite a challenge for most of us! One of our own
staff members enjoys paper piecing and is very
experienced at it. She is willing and
excited to share her knowledge of the craft. Join
Colleen and learn the technique of paper piecing
to ad to your repertoire of quilting techniques.

Accessories
Sewing Roll
Instructor: Michele Wise
Want a very
portable and beautiful sewing roll to take your
applique`, stitchery and hand quilting projects
with you. This will be a two part class where you
will hand stitch and embellish a garden of flowers
and the next time we meet finish up the sewing
roll with a minimum of quilting.
