Machine Quilting

Now is the time to finish up all those "UFO's" you have sitting in the closet! There's no secret to machine quilting your own quilts. I'll show you the tips and techniques you need to be a successful machine quilter. With a little practice, anyone can do it! Book purchase required.

Basic Beginning Quilting

Instructor: Terri Nussbaum

This quilt seems like a game, one we use to plan when we were young. We’ll be hopping around from square to square. Well that describes this quilt that is full of blocks!! This is a great class for the beginner. We will explore starter techniques, such as the log cabin, a rail fence, the bow tie, and the fast flying geese. All the basics that you will need to get you going for many quilts to come. The center diagonal row of stars really pulls you in and then the hunt begins to find all of the other blocks. What a fun game, and easy too!! Sample is done very scrappy, but could be done in a simple three or four fabric color plan.

Fabric Frolic – which has always been the first Friday of the month is getting a facelift. It will now start on the first Thursday of the month @ 5:30 pm and continue through the first Friday until 5:30 pm.  And, you ask why? Because we are Welcoming  the Appliqué Society. They will meet on the first Friday of the month in our classroom from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. So – Welcome Appliqué Society. Actually you now have two days to shop. You can come back on Friday to pick up what you didn’t get on Thursday evening.

Yard Sale  . . . Yard Sale . . . Yard Sale

Yes we are having a “Yard Sale”. This is always a favorite. It’s time again to come on over to the quilt shop and see what treasures you can pick up. There will be lots to choose from, everything from used samples to furniture to old display items. Who knows Debbie may even bring treasures from her home. So mark your calendar for JULY 30. 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Around the Block

“Hovering Hawks” Join us again – or for the very first time – for a new and exciting quilt, “Hovering Hawks.”  Done in rich earth tones, reds, browns, blues, blacks and creams, this kit is one you will love.

Terri will demo the directions each month and you will be off to piece together your “hawks.” Soon this quilt will be “hovering” all around you!!

Sunday Sew with Terri

Join Terri for a fun filled afternoon of sewing. Make Sunday a special day for yourself, come and sew at the shop. If you have a project you just want to sew on, or if you have a project that is challenging you, Terri will be here to help.

Scrap Bag Buddies

The summers are busy and so are we – so a fabric exchange will fit in nicely for our little buddie group. Here is the plan – using a focus fabric, we will exchange 6” fabric squares throughout the summer. Then, after gathering all of our squares, we will challenge ourselves to make a quilt by the winter quarter. We will have a little “show and tell,” and the winner will win a gift certificate. Join in now for all the fun!!

Girls Night Out

Fun, fellowship and sewing . . . That's what this class is about. If you need help, our instructor is here to give it. If you want to sew without the interruptions of home this is the class for you. Bring your own project and sew away. Everyone is welcome. First come, first served, so sign up.

Quiltropoly

This is sure to be a favorite. Join us for a game of Quiltropoly, pot luck and sewing. Not to mention the fun you will have! This is a one time only class, bring your favorite pot luck dish, something to stitch on and be prepared to laugh and have a good time. There is no fee, but you must sign up.

Make 'n Take

Join this class each quarter throughout the year. Each month we will do a small project suitable for a gift, a decoration, or even a collectible. We will make a different item each month for a year. Kit required each month.
