Join us as we
celebrate 10 years of fun, and quilting. We have met so
many wonderful friends and customers over the years.
Please come on July 17th to celebrate this
milestone with us! We have many memories to look back on
and many more to create as we move ahead!
Sew Expo Update
We are home from Sew Expo now. Let us tell you we truly
had a marvelous time. It was so much work and so much
fun. We really enjoyed seeing our regular customers and
long time friends. We also enjoyed meeting new friends
and seeing new faces. We are already looking forward to
new year. We want to say "THANK YOU" to everyone who
made us feel so Welcome and were as pleased as we were
to finally make it in. WOW! What a whirlwind 4 days that
was. Because it was so close to home, the staff was also
able to enjoy some of that hard work. We got lots of
feed back and we will take that in to consideration for
next year. So until then, nice to meet all the new
friends and greet the old ones. And . . . Thanks
again!
CONGRATULATIONS ! 10 Years
As we stroll into the new decade, we can't help but
reminisce over the last 10 years. 2010 marks our tenth
year. We look forward to another 10 (minimum). Thank You
to all of our friends, family and staff for the support
throughout the last ten!
As we look back to the beginning, the house has changed
color and the color of the front doors are always a big
conversation piece. The cutting table has changed from
the back room to the front room. The front parlor is
always changing, we tend to make that our seasonal room.
The classroom has moved from upstairs to downstairs.
Lots of national teachers have taught in our shop, Sue
Spargo, Carol Doak, Jo Morton and Meg Hawkey just to
name a few. We have created annual events, Yard Sale,
Tea Parties, and we have participated in the Western
Washington Shop Hop 9 times. (Only because we opened in
July) We have been published in Quiltmaker Magazine
(2003), we have been the feature pattern designer in
Country Pleasures Magazine (2008), and Yes, we were
voted a Top 10 Shop by American Patchwork and Quilting
Magazine (1997). What an honor that was.
The staff, well they come and go. But really we have a
great staff. Barb has been with us the longest and
almost since the beginning. Sometimes we have to work
longer or shorter hours than scheduled, weather is
almost always an issue and since Barb lives the closest,
she gets the snow days (she can walk to the shop). We
have designers on staff too, did you know Gerry, Susan
and Wendy all design patterns for the shop?
We have also developed a web site. This enables us to
ship items local and international. We are thrilled when
we get an international order. Who new being so close to
Sea Tac airport would be such a plus. We have met so
many wonderful friends. Those just off the plane and
stopping by and those on the way to the airport. We
cherish the many friendships that has created. We have
also developed a large Block of the Month program. This
is a lot of fun. If you haven't participated in this
program you are really missing out. We have over 20
different quilts going at this time. The way it works,
you choose the quilt you want to do, then sign up and we
mail you just one block each month. No pressure for you.
Last but not least we have Harold Turpin, Creator of
custom made decorator houses. These houses are a
favorite of everyone who comes through our doors.
SEW EXPO - The Biggest Sewing Party in the Country
We have been
invited to participate in Sew Expo. . . and we want you
